The innovative two-story design is a 43,000 ft² metal-based structure is a fully functional fire hall, there is training tower Centre with a fitness center, fire fit-challenge stairwell, climbing wall and weight rooms. There are also quiet rooms, office space, full kitchen, dorm rooms, and large bays for trucks and emergency vehicles.
Construction began in the spring of 2010 and was completed spring of 2012. This building has been LEED certified. Some examples of eco-friendly features include radiant in-slab heating raised flooring, low water consumption plumbing fixtures, occupancy sensor switches, triple-glazed windows and a rainwater capture cistern for washing vehicles.
