The Westerra Memorial High School in Stony Plain, Alberta was completed in 2010. This facility involved a complete transformation of the existing unused NAIT Westerra post-secondary campus into an award-winning contemporary high school. Incorporating the existing buildings, the design team added a new gymnasium and a science wing. In addition to the large size 13,850 m² this project had special complexities that Marshall-Lee addressed. These included the removal of significant portions of the roof to install a new skylight system, and the cutting and reinforcing of large openings for new windows. Varied, healthy and inspiring, the resulting bright spaces within the school created a positive learning environment for students and staff. It is a great example of our ability to complete projects on time and on budget.
